Request to change Codespaces billing for microsoft/generative-ai-for-beginners

Hello Microsoft billing team / Name,

I’m a contributor (GitHub: frankmarcelo-dev) who created a Codespace for this repository:
https://github.com/microsoft/generative-ai-for-beginners

Currently Codespaces usage for the repo is being billed to my personal account (you’ll see “paid for by frankmarcelo-dev” on the repo). Could you either:

• Enable organization-level Codespaces billing (add a payment method) so the organization pays for Codespaces on this repo, or
• Disable Codespaces for this repository if you don’t want Codespaces enabled here.

If you prefer the org to take over billing I can stop billing on my side or delete my personal Codespace. Please let me know which option you prefer or if you need any details from me.

Codespaces billing for microsoft/generative-ai-for-beginners is already enabled at the parent organization level. When a Codespace is created, GitHub determines who pays based on Codespace ownership, not just the repository owner. If a Codespace is created under a personal account, GitHub will show it as “paid for by ” unless it’s explicitly created as an organization‑owned Codespace.

Important note on forks:

If you fork this repository and create a Codespace from your fork, all compute and storage costs are always billed to your personal account, regardless of the upstream organization’s billing settings.

Organization billing only applies to Codespaces created directly from the org‑owned repository and only when the org is configured to own and pay for those Codespaces. So simply create create codespace at https://github.com/microsoft/generative-ai-for-beginners NOT Your fork

There’s no action required from the Microsoft billing team at this time, and we don’t plan to disable Codespaces for this repository. If you’d prefer not to have any personal billing associated, you can safely delete your personal Codespace or continue working locally.
