Please add urgently a feature that would allow recrusivelly upload folders thru GitHub website UI.

Currenly, leak of this feature makes very difficult to upload project with complex folder structure from an non-desktop environment (for example: from mobile), with doesn't has console, nor git present

Hi @mdziczkowski! A native “Upload Folder” button on mobile would definitely be a nice feature, but there are a couple of workarounds you can already use without needing a desktop or terminal.

1. Create folders using / in the filename
In your repo, go to Add file → Create new file.

Then type something like:

myFolder/mySubfolder/index.html

GitHub will automatically create the folder structure for you.

2. Use the github.dev web editor
You can also change:

github.com

to:

github.dev

in the repository URL.

That opens the web-based VS Code editor, where creating folders and organizing files is much easier than the standard mobile UI.

3. Android option: Termux
If you're on Android and eventually want a more powerful workflow, apps like Termux let you use normal Git commands directly from your phone.

Hopefully one of these helps until GitHub adds proper folder uploads to the mobile web UI.

@zippynx That is not the case... I don't want to manually re-create each folder of the project (aspecially if the folder structure is complex) and the. upload the files separatelly to each because it's annoying and would take a loot of time and efford to do that

Hi @mdziczkowski fair point. Manually recreating a large nested folder structure through the web UI would be extremely tedious and not practical for real projects.

That limitation is also why using a local terminal environment with Git (for example Termux on Android) is currently the most reliable way to upload an existing project structure from mobile in one go.

Since we're already troubleshooting your SSH/Git setup in the other thread, getting that workflow working should completely bypass this limitation and make pushing full projects much easier from your phone.
